Dr. Robert Barnes is a 1963 graduate of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and a board certified general surgeon. Dr. Barnes practiced general surgery and family medicine for 26 years in Silver Creek, NY with affiliations at three area hospitals. In 1983 he was honored by the American College of Surgeons and bestowed the honor of fellow of osteopathic surgeons. In 1994 Dr. Barnes turned his full attention to the practice of alternative medicine following training in the protocol of Chelation Therapy by the American College of Advancement in medicine (ACAM).
In 1994 Dr. Barnes opened his first Preventive Medicine & Wellness clinic in Fredonia, specializing in Chelation therapy. In 1999 the practice expanded to a second location and today Dr. Barnes has offices in Dunkirk, NY and Cheektowaga, NY.

Dr. Barnes was an adjunct clinical assistant professor for the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Surgery, a guest lecturer on nutritional medicine at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and a 1998 NYS representative at the National convocation of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri.

rebeccaRebecca Barnes Shepherd graduated from Clayton College with a Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) degree in August 2008, and from D’Youville College’s Physician Assistant program in 2006. She is a registered Physician Assistant, Certified, so is able to practice the same scope of medicine as a physician, including physical examination, medical procedures, prescription privileges, and ordering and interpretation of medical tests. As Dr. Barnes’ daughter, she has been interested in natural medicine since the Clinic began, utilizing the treatments and natural therapies for herself and her family, finally joining the practice in 2006. The study of naturopathy has given her a background in many natural healing therapies, including supplements, herbs, and homeopathy. At this time, she is specializing in the treatment of metabolic and thyroid disorders, as well as bio identical hormone replacement therapies.
